MS801 Tester for Lithium-Ion Battery Module Diagnostics and Balancing
MS801 is a specialized tester designed for servicing and diagnosing lithium-ion modules of high-voltage batteries used in electric and hybrid vehicles. The tester supports battery packs (battery modules) containing from 2 to 14 series-connected Li-ion cells (up to 4.2 V per cell) and from 2 to 16 LiFePO₄ cells.
The device functionality includes battery charging, discharging with actual capacity measurement, cell internal resistance testing, and active 16-channel balancing with a current range from 0.05 to 2 A. Simultaneous charging and discharging of cells during the balancing process significantly reduces the procedure time.
During battery capacity measurement, the MS801 uses regenerative discharge technology. Unlike conventional diagnostic systems, where the stored energy is simply dissipated as heat, the MS801 feeds it back into the electrical grid. This significantly reduces overall power consumption and lowers operating costs.
For communication with the Battery Management System (BMS), the tester is equipped with CAN and RS485 interfaces. It also supports connection of diagnostic scan tools via the OBDII connector for reading data from the battery BMS.
All test results are automatically stored in the device's internal memory and can be analyzed on a PC using dedicated software. The dedicated software also allows users to generate diagnostic reports in PDF format.
The tester can be operated either via the built-in display or remotely through any web browser using a laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
